Winters were coming to a close and the evening had turned pleasant enough for all. A feeling of expectation hung in the air as we stood by the seating arrangement in wait of the others to arrive. Within moments Wing Commander & Mrs H S Sisodia (our ex Head Master 1976-80) entered the lawns accompanied by Mrs Vadera (Wife of our beloved Maths teacher Mr SK Vadera whom we lost on 14 May 2009).
After the initial introductions and several hugs and back slaps, the ‘boys’ who had grown into men with graying hair surrounded their academic staff of yesteryears. Suddenly, lightning in the sky roared mildly and sent the gathering scurrying for shelter with the soft fall of rain.
The evening settled into a walk down the memory lane and stories of mischief and escapades did the rounds. The tenure of Wg Cdr Sisodia, turned the subject of discussion and Mrs Vadera brought in her remembrance of other colleagues, their high points. But the atmosphere became partially heavy when she broke down at the loss of her husband at the dining table. She was patted and soothed at her delight in her loving children.
The dinner had started in the traditional Saikap way by tinkling the spoon on the dining table and exchange of grins. It took longer than usual as all were immersed in conversation about the ‘good, old, golden’ days.

The gathering of old ‘boys’ …. Colonel Praveen Chand Katoch (Muturu) (1005), Brigadier Anup Krishan Dhar (1252), Colonel Rawel Singh (1161), Vinay Kumar Sharma, Wing Commander Arun Marwaha (1462) and Rakesh Bhandari (1470) made up for the Agra Chapter of Saikapians.
